Canada Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CanCham Bangladesh)organized an event to “Celebrate 50 Years of Bilateral Relations between Canada and Bangladesh” on 27th November 2022 at Intercontinental Dhaka.
The main objectives of the event was to promote and further strengthen the bilateral relations between Canada and Bangladesh. Dr. A.K. Abdul Momen, MP, Hon’ble Minister of Foreign Affairs, Government of Bangladesh was the Chief Guest. H.E. Dr. Lilly Nicholls, High Commissioner of Canada to Bangladesh; H.E. Dr. Khalilur Rahman, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Canada and Md. Jashim Uddin, President, Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) & Co-Chair of Joint Working Group (JWG), Bangladesh side was present as Special Guests during the event. Diplomats, Business Leaders of Bangladesh, Directors and Members of CanCham Bangladesh was also joined the event.

CanCham Bangladesh AGM is going to be held on 10th December, 2025
CanCham Bangladesh will be holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the year 2025 on 10 December 2025 at Gulshan Club, Dhaka. The official notice for the meeting has been issued on 19 November 2025. Please find the meeting notice below:
CanCham Bangladesh reshuffled the Board of Directors
In the 123rd Board Meeting of CanCham Bangladesh, the Board unanimously elected Mr. Mohammad Kamal Uddin, Vice President, as the new President. The proposal was placed by Mr. A. K. M. Fareyzul Haque Ansarey and seconded by Mr. Ali Bakhtiar Mahmud. Pursuant to the Articles of Association and legal opinion from M/s Ruskin Global, the Board also resolved to co-opt Mr. Mostofa Qumrus Sobhan, Managing Director of Dragon Sweater Bangladesh Ltd. and member of CanCham Bangladesh, as a Director. He may also assume the responsibilities of Vice President in due course.
Relocation of CanCham Bangladesh Office
After operating in Concord Tower, Banglamotor, Dhaka for the past 20 years, CanCham Bangladesh has officially relocated its office to new premises at Flat A2, House 75, Road No. 04, Block-, Banani, Dhaka 1214, effective from 01 July 2025. The new office space measures 1,380 square feet.
CanCham Bangladesh President Masudur Rahman passes away
Masudur Rahman was the founding president of CanCham Bangladesh, established in 2005, and was re-elected to the position multiple times. Masudur Rahman, president of the Canada Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CanCham Bangladesh), passed away on 5 March 2025. He was also the Managing Director of Crane Ltd and Chairman of Asia Securities Ltd. In a statement, CanCham Bangladesh expressed deep sorrow over his demise, stating, “The void so created in CanCham Bangladesh will never be filled.” The organization also extended prayers for the departed soul and for his family, seeking strength for them to bear the irreparable loss. The Board organized the milad majhfil in the Gulshan Club in order to pray for salvation of the departed soul of Late President Masudur Rahman.
Aircraft Purchase from Canada: Biman’s new Dash-8 arrives in Dhaka
The third Dash-8 aircraft purchased from Canada arrived in Dhaka yesterday afternoon. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has named it “Shwet Bolaka”. State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Mahbub Ali received the aircraft at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 5:36pm. It was bought under a government-to-government agreement.
